I recently had the opportunity to visit Fablab Italia, the fablab that has been established as part of the Stazione Futuro exhibition.

A Fab Lab (fabrication laboratory) is a small-scale workshop offering digital fabrication. Fablab Italia offers many useful tools to create your own project.

Fablab Italia offers:

Makerbot Thing-O-Matic

The prototyping tool which really got more attention from myself, has been the Makerbot Thing-O-Matic. I had seen this low cost 3D printer featured in many videos and projects and I always thought that it was awesome! Well, seeing it live working was great!

Conclusions

Fablab Italia really offers many possibilities for people in need of prototypes for their projects. I hope we'll be able to use some of the tools available at the Fablab Italia in our research projects.

More to follow ;-)
